A new book on the geology of the Hudson Valley!

How old are those rocks in my back yard? How did the Catskills form? When was the Ice Age? How did the Hudson River carve through the Highlands? Why are the rocks in Manhattan different from those Upstate? How do geologists even know all this stuff?

If these questions intrigue you, you'll want to pick up this exciting new book written by Steven H. Schimmrich, a professor at SUNY Ulster County Community College in Stone Ridge, NY. Mr. Schimmrich teaches a summer field class on the geology of the Hudson Valley and has years of experience walking on and studying rock outcrops throughout the region.

The best part is that you don't have to be a geologist to understand this book, it's written specifically to appeal to a general audience. All that's required is an interest in learning about the billion-year history of our beautiful valley.

The publication date will be announced here when details are available. Keep watching this website! If you'd like to be added to our email notication list, drop us a note and we'd be happy to keep you informed as to when the book will be available at your local bookstore.
